Aflac - Fraud
I have been dealing with a claim with them since November.
This claim is for the hospital plan.
They are refusing to pay the $1500 for being admitted to the hospital for surgery. I had a hysterectomy, and needed to stay overnight possibly two in the hospital therefore I was admitted. They claim that I was there for observation. what the heck does that mean?
I was in a hospital room, hooked up to all sorts of machines, had a catheter and unable to move because I had just had major surgery! Isn’t that why you are admitted to a hospital before major surgery?
Well, I am not letting this go. Everything on the policy plan says that if you are admitted for sickness or accident, you are covered.
Isn’t possible cancer in your uterus considered a sickness? They make it seem like I went in for a cosmetic procedure, like I had a choice!
Making claims with the Florida Insurance Regulators and Better Business B.
I am also going to make sure that everyone in my entire school district knows that Aflac is a lie, stealing money and giving false hope to people this week, when we are starting our 2 week open enrollment period for our yearly renewal.
I will continue this fight. They want people to get aggravated and just give up, but I will not...
Reason of review: Problems with payment.

As a former Aflac corporate call center employee, my advice is to try to get some kind of document from the hospital indicating the number of observation hours, at least showing 24 hours being charged as observation. If you cant do that, try getting a copy of the ER report showing the time of arrival to being seen, and a copy of the discharge summary indicating time discharged. If it is over 24 hours, then that documentation should allow the claim to be paid.
