AFLAC DENTAL INSURANCE IS A SCAM

An AFLAC rep came to my work place to sell us insurance. I haven't been to a Dentist in 8 years and was interested in Dental Insurance. I specifically asked the Rep if I could start seeing the Dentist right away. His answer was "Yes". I asked if I was unhappy with the services could I cancel at anytime. Again the Reps answer was Yes. He embellished the insurance and said it covered two Dental Cleanings and stated the first visit to your Dentist you are mailed $50 for a Wellness benefit. Basically these Reps are scammers and liars!!!!! My Dental cleaning and X-rays cost me $240...AFLAC only paid $75. I found out that I need a crown and have to pay into AFLAC for 2 years before I can even have the Dental work done. Let's do the math. That is $940. I already paid $150 for my cleaning and xrays. The crown will cost $1422 and AFLAC only pays $375. So basically...I would have to pay $2156 for premiums, 1 cleaning in 2 years and my crown. They alsio made me wait months to cancel since I signed up through my work. I had to wait until open enrollment again. Again...another fact left out!

HOW ON EARTH IS THAT CONSIDERED INSURANCE!!!! SCAM...SCAM....SCAM! Look into a Discount with your Dentist. I learned they will give you 25% of services with a smaller monthly fee and there is no waiting period.

DON'T BE ANOTHER VICTIM TO AFLAC!!!!

lmao... welcome to american insurance hahahahahhahahaha...

Buddy... aflac isnt even bad. Its supplemental insurance, you need regular insurance on top of this for it to matter... Now you know why we need medicare for all..

I remember the first time I started paying for insurance. ALL insurance is a scam. They will always come out on top until we get medicare for all.

Guest

Aflac is ***

Guest

They got me the same way. I specifically asked about having Wisdom teeth removed.

"Yes, covers 1000$ in surgeries." So I sign up an have the procedure done a yr later .. 1300 plus 100 visit .. took 7 months to file claim.. paid me back 190$ WTF?

Lies just to get your $.. I even called my sales rep before I had surgery done, give them the dental codes an he informed me that it would pay over half of cost..Lmao

Sumaiyah Zpu

I have also had extremely similar experiences with aflac dental. It is terrible & I would never recommend it to anyone

Guest

It's not insurance. Its supplemental insurance.

Guest

I AM ENCOUNTERING THE EXACT SAME SITCH..I WAS TOLD THIS WAS SUPPLEMENTAL TO YOUR REAL INSURANCE..HUH? YES THESE ARE PREMIUMS FOR CLEANINGS ,WHICH ANY DENTAL INS.

ALLREADY COVERS...REP TOLD ME PROBABLY YOU MUST WAIT A YEAR OR TWO,PLAN IT OUT,ITS LIKE HEALTH INSURANCE.

DO YOU PLAN OUT A BROKEN LEG A YEAR FROM NOW SO YOUR COVERED? DOUBLE DOUBLE LICENSE TO STEAL

Guest

This is supplemental insurance. It even states that in the commercial.

It can help pay out of pocket expenses. I have excellent dental insurance but I still have a yearly limit and they pay a percentage of the bill. Aflac will cover a portion of out of pocket expenses. No insurance pays 100 percent.

(I work in insurance as a claims analyst. I basically pay or deny claims.

So I see what different plans pay) It's important to do your own research in the basics of insurance and in this case, supplemental insurance. Once again, no insurance pays 100 percent and supplemental is just that-it supplements the main insurance to help cut down on the out of pocket expenses.

Guest

I have had AFLAC since 2012 and it is great. I now have a free dental insurance from my employer.

My co-pay is $10 at the dentist, AFLAC pays the dentist $25. I had a crown, my insurance is a flat $155 fee. AFLAC pays the dentist $250. I have all my dental work and x-rays done free of charge to me.

I am building a credit with my dental office and am saving up for a night guard. I also used credit for prescription toothpaste and mouthwash.

My dental insurance does not have an annual limit so I get everything done immediately. I have 7 children also on both and everything is covered.

Guest

wow this person sure never purchased insurance before. They give you a list of services that have waiting periods, Dont you think they are worried that you will scam them and get thousands of dollars of work done then cancel.

i thought this comment was worth reading. but i guess not

Guest

You're a dipsh*t who didn't read your policy which clearly explains how much gets paid out for specific services and the waiting periods for them.

Life insurance fiasco

my mother passed away last year and had Aflac life insurance, a policy for 25k.. my brother and I have been in a tug of war with them for over a year now about this life insurance. its been with the auditer for more then 2 months and still nothings getting done. I would never recommend them to anyone I care about. this is ridiculous, the only reason I have no filed a lawsuit is, my brother and I are quite broke as we are only in our early 20's (24=22 respectively) and cant afford to lose any of this money.

please contact your local insurance department. let them know you wish to file a complaint and get the persons name you talked to.

then check every two days until you have your money. by the way, tell aflac you have filed a complaint. they will jump to file your claim after that, more often than not.

good luck my friend. sorry for your loss.

Guest

SeanChris:

First, I'm sorry to hear about your mother.

Second, you've posted a complaint about Aflac without indicating what the issue is - "tug of war" is pretty vague. Was the policy paid up to date? Are you and your brother listed as the policy's beneficiaries? Did you submit a death certificate? Sort of unfair to badmouth Aflac without giving some more info.

Someone sold this policy to your mother. Obtain the agent's name, either from the policy, or through your mother's employer. Once you have that, call Aflac and ask them for the names and contact numbers of each of their coordinators (management hierarchy). Call the agent and demand assistance. If you don't get a response in 24 hrs, call the next highest person on the list, and so on. Life insurance claims are pretty routine - Aflac has no problem paying claims.

When you do get paid, please give the courtesy of posting about it.

AFLAC Big Disappointment

I have read responses from AFLAC stating not all representatives are nice and we shouldn't blame the company but I have dealt with 4 and they all have been bad and they even have bad mouthed each other trying to put blame on someone else which is extremely unprofessional.

I have a company and had AFLAC come in and explain what they do. Four women came in they explained and myself and other decided to sign up. I have short term and long term disability and one other policy. They deduct 38.50 twice a month. I went to the hospital for a broken toe they gave me crutches I called AFLAC they said yes it was covered gave me papers to fill out and I faxed them back. Unfortunately I needed the Doctor who saw me to fill out a paper as well. Turns out the Doctor I saw doesn't usually work Emergency and was just filling in. I couldn't track him down to get him to sign, I let my AFLAC rep know she said don't worry she would work on it and find out who it was.

Then after that I went to the hospital for a seizure. I missed a week of work, AFLAC again said it was covered. I faxed the paperwork, and she said everything would be taken care of not to worry she was gonna work on it and let me know if she needed something else, also she stated she was still working on my first claim.

Months have passed. I have spoken to all 4 reps who have passed me around. The original rep I talked to was suddenly let go. My case transferred. This person came in and said the rep I had before was incompetent and she would take care of everything. Then I get a call from a 3rd rep who viola was let go as well. So know I have a new person who assures me she will fix everything and I will get money back in the amount close to 800$ I had missed an extensive amount of work.

Well today I called again and oh my I have another new rep. Wow that is great. This rep wants to meet with me. I'm sure she will tell me that she is working on it. Point is my claim is right where it was when I sent it in. Nobody has said anything about needing more info. They told me my claim fit the insurance I took out. So what is the problem.

Another employee of mine met with AFLAC she went over options and they signed her up without her authorization. 6 months later she is still fighting for her refund check. They finally sent her a letter stating her refund amount but didn't include the check even though the letter said one was included. She opened the letter in front of me and another witness and we all saw no check. Now AFLAC said she did receive the check and actually she cashed it. Which is impossible in it's own right because the check was written out to my company and only myself and the owner can cash anything, and not to mention the fact there was no check!!!

I don't need AFLAC to pay me. I make plenty of money but to watch an employee get screwed month after month who lives pay check to paycheck and counts on all of her check is not cool. If my claim needed more paperwork, they should tell me. If my claim doesn't qualify they shouldn't tell me it does. If they say they are working on it and will get it all taken care of they should. I don't want to pay for something that doesn't do what it promises.

3 out of 5 people at my work have had negative experiences this is pretty high odds. Maybe rep 5 will be the winner. I have been talking to a lot of people who have AFLAC they state they have paid them more then they have ever received. You are better off putting that monthly amount in a savings account.

Hello consumer. I have read your complaint and i have some issues with it.

First of all why is your Aflac Rep. doing your paperwork? Thats your responsibility. You can go online...or better yet your HR person should print them out for you because they have to fill out a portion of the paperwork as do you and your Dr. Once you have these completed fax them into Aflac and your all done!

You can also call Aflacs automated info center to follow the process.

Wow theres that Phyllis person again, oh Im sorry a person would not repeat themselves time and time again. Nor would they make the same typo, over and over again.

Aflac RIPOFF

I had a policy for a number of years, when I had a claim, I had a work related injury which resulted in orthrascopic surgery, and as a result they had to pay me $350, it was like a team of attorneys decended on me to find a way NOT to pay, eventually with all the back and forth I gave up, they are a total ripp off and I would advise people not to do business with them, they are happy to take your dollars however when it comes to a claim they WILL find a way to disqualify you.

Hilarious. Aflac sent in a team of lawyers to not pay you a petty $350. Seriously? That's not even a drop in the bucket to them. 1- "seems like a team"; that's coming from someone is angry. $350 is not worth a "team of lawyers". 2- "ripp"; funny that when I typed this it came up with the red underline indicating that its spelled wrong. AND YET you couldn't correct it. LAZY. Which Realist nailed.

Anonymous #2 - your just retarded. Sure Cali anonymous may not be lying but I doubt the whole truth is out. See #1 & #2. Your easily impressionable which makes me think people must take advantage of you all the time. And you prob don't even realize it. Because if one stranger can sway your opinion hat strongly and so easily then I have few for you: Comcast is horrible. Verizon's coverage is the best. The sky is pink. Aliens are coming. SO GLAD I WENT TO THE 2nd PAGE OF THE SEARCH RESULTS.

Thanks for laugh. :zzz

I do not believe the commentors replies to this report. I believe the posting from Anonymous from California and believe that they hired a team of lawyers to find a reason to deny the claim.

I do not believe AflacPhyllis, Realist, or Aflic Agent. They certainly have a jaded interest in defending the reputation of this company, and Anonymous has NO reason to lie about his/her experience with them. Aflac is an insurance company, and we all have experiences with insurance companies that attempt to disqualify our claims.

I for one will not consider buying this insurance, expecially after the agents from this company tried to flood this posting with lies and claiming they come from the injured party. I suggest you look hard and with a jaundiced eye before you consider giving your hard earned money to this company!

You are a liar, man. Aflac is simple and easy.

There are no lawyers! LOL. You call your agent and get the paperwork in to them and they mail you a check. They are TOP-RATED in their industry.

It sounds like you were lazy and wanted Aflac to jsut send you money and not have any proof that you were hurt (for example, a doctor's note). Most people are just lazy out there.

Aflac has never not paid a legitimate claim. The claims process for Aflac is based off the medical notes and itemized bill....without these they have no idea what to pay you based on your treaments. This post is ludicrous.

Injury claim,scam

I had an injury when I fell on ice in my driveway,my ribs were swollen and tender and couldnt breath.I missed almost two weeks of work, went to doctors they couldnt figure it out, then went to chiropractor and they said my rib cage has shifted and my sternum bone was out so I got adjusted it took three times before I got better, sent a injury claim form, then aflac claimed it as illness well it would be illness if I had scoliosis of the spine or something but had no previous bone type problems before.Iam just pissed off I pay them thinking Iam going to get covered well I was wrong

My husband took out an AFLAC policy on june 25th of 2013, on July 8, 2013 someone pulled out in front of him causing an awful crash. His sternum and ankle were broken and is still in a wheelchair.

His policy took effect on July 1st. We had made one payment on an accident and short term disability policy. There was alot of paperwork to send in and I will admit I got a defferent response from everyone I spoke to about when the benefits would be paid. Just as I was starting to get pissed, I spoke with a representitive that called me back in 10 minutes with a check amount of 6,800.00.

our premium was 68.00 a month. If not for Aflac we would have lost our home.

We continue to get disability checks in a timely manner.

Guest

I work in claims and can tell you if you have the details of the accident and submit proper documentation to support it , such as the physicians statement or billing showing dates of service for that injury and diagnosis codes that correspond-it should be payable. Perhaps you did not submit enough supporting documentation and it was easier to deny the claim than to pend it for additional information.

Look at what you submitted and if you in the company's shoes, think you have sufficient proof of loss- than resubmit and ask for re-review. If what you have already submitted you think is sufficient than just refile.

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-657648

You are correct. I try to explain the same thing to people over the phone 8 hours a day to no avail.

But no one wants to listen. Very tiring and frustrating.

Guest

Refile the claim - indicate on the 1st page of the claim form exactly how and when the fall occurred - you have to state you slipped on ice, fell, hitting side - then attach itemized bills for ALL doctors visits and xrays - there shouldn't be any problem with this claim being paid -

Guest

If it's not too late, I would try to resubmit this claim. The issue may be how long you waited to go to the doctor, (which consult your policy for sure) but usually the problem lies in how the Chiropractor coded it.

Check with them. Usually it has to be directly related to an accident and state that on the claim form. Don't write, back hurt so went to chiropractor, write fell on ice in driveway, see what I'm saying? You just need to show Aflac the documentation.

Also scam is sort of slander.

Aflac is a highly rated company that is actually known for paying their claims better than most insurance companies.

Aflac Agent

You have to pay for all your classes, license, shirts. The only thing I got for free was my business cards.

I had to pay twice what my laptop was worth because of the proprietary software. When I decommissioned it I couldn't use it any more. I had to contact the manufacturer to get the discs to restore it. Lost out on the Microsoft Office Professional that I supposedly paid for but never got the discs.

Trainers changed the commission split when they found out I landed a large account. They said it was because I didn't have my own computer so the split went from 50/50 to 70/30. They terminated my writing number after I told them I wanted to go part time in an attempt to get my residual checks they owed me. I requested to be paid as earned and twice they have billed me for commissions paid that fell through after almost a year because the account stopped payment.

There is no marketing strategy other than hit or miss so you end up talking to folks that have heard it all before. This is the only job that cost me money to work for.

I work for Aflac. I had to pay for the license and classes, but thats for your 1099 contract. You can work for any insurance company with that. Not just Aflac.

I was also never given whatever that propietary software is that this person is describing. I never had to pay for any laptop or software. I bring my own laptop (has windows 8), and use the wi-fi in the office.

It really depends on who you're working under. Do research on your Regional and their DSCs if you can. Some are great! They will help you, run appointments with you and and not take any of your commission, others seem to be really shady. I must say that I am really fortunate to not have ended up with one of those types.

Guest

In Aflac you are a business owner...your a 1099...This is the best part of the business! Its up to you to make it, just like any business owner starting their company.

Dont blame everyone else for your personal failures. Aflac is an awesome company to work for and changes lives on a daily basis.

Its unfortuante that you are too narrow minded to see such an awesome oppertunity at your finger tips.

Complaint to deaf ears

I was a policy holder for over 8 years. I have since recently cancelled my account with AFLAC and they continued to pull the premium out of my account the following month.

Due to not planning for this unauthorized payment, I also received a $29 no sufficient funds paid fee. I have since sent 3 faxes to AFLAC to prove their screw up caused me money but till this day, they still have not received anything. Mind you, my account was cancelled in September, unauthorized charge in October and I did receive that money back in November but its been 3 months and counting that they dont get their faxes. It is minimal compared to other complaints but I can only imagine what getting a larger amount of money from them would be like at this point.

The rep that took my cancellation said I had 1 year to reinstate my account but something tells me I'd regret it. As long as they are getting money, they love you but since I have cancelled my account, I am no one for them to help

AFLAC

AFLAC denied my accident claim in 2004, I was a single mother with two children in school. When I became injured I could not stand or walk for a long period of time. Therefore I could not perform my work duties in order to continue to take of my children I had to apply for Food Stamps. AFLAC reported to me the ER doctor did not state how long I would disable therefore my claim was denied. Claim holders please be advise on talk to your AFLAC agent to insure that you have a good understanding of your claim. Highly Pissed Homless, Welfare Consumer

I am as confused as the previous agent. I have never had an accident claim denied because of a length of disability. I can only assume that you have an accident policy with a disability rider.

1. Was the entire claim denied? If so, what was the reason. Even if you did not have a length of time specified by the ER doctor, this should not have interfered with the accident portion of the claim. Did you seek initial treatment within 72 hours?

2. Prior to working for Aflac, I worked as an ER nurse for 10 years. ER doctors do not typically excuse people from work for more than a day or two before sending them for follow-up with another physician. Who were you sent to for follow-up? Did this provider write for you to have additional time off from work? I'm sure you had several follow-up appointments. You may be eligible for additional payments for some of these, as well, depending on the policy that you have.

If you are looking for disability documentation from an ER doctor, this is probably why you are receiving continued denials. This is not an Aflac issue, this is an ER issue. I have worked in the medical profession for over 20 years and have yet to meet an ER physician who will write for a period of disability. They view this to be the job of the community physician.

My suggestion is that you look to your regular doctor and attempt to get records from him or her and then resubmit this claim. As long as your initial treatment occurred within 72 hours of your initial injury, chances are that it will still get paid.

Guest

I had a bad back since 2009, Aflac has been fair and paid my claims in a good way, recently an Aflac rep came to my work place and i wanted to add short term, i received a letter 2 weeks later stating due to the recent claims. Well now when i fax a claim it takes so long for Aflac to get the ball rolling. I sent a claim a week ago and when i check the status it still says "as of blablabla we havent received any claims..

Guest

Uhhh, I am no insurance expert, but even I know you cant get disability coverage from an accident policy. Sounds like you need to understand what youre buying.

Guest

you need to call your agent and have them help you. Aflac does not deny claims.

You need to get your doctor to fill out the form.

Then Aflac will pay you. But you have to show proof first.

Your are full of *** "agent" they denied almost every claim I sent in and refused to pay any of my claims as I went over them with my agent and she helped me fill out the forms! When it came to justify the claim she had a "memory loss" and wouldn't help me at all. You Suck!

I can tell you one thing. An "Acident".

Policy doesn't pay disability (You said the ER doctor didn't state how long you would be disabled). It pays an amount that is specified in your policy for each and every injury due to an Accident!

AFLAC- Dental Insurance

Our monthly policy costs more than they cover on one cleaning for a child at the dentist. Try and cancel because it is cheaper to pay the dentist directly than pay AFLAC every month and you can't because it's open enrollment period is closed till next year. They put in print a full brochure on services covered, provided and at what rates they are covered. They say orthodontics are covered, well they aren't, so if your child needs braces, forget it! Just submit a bill for processing and you find out the brochure is nothing but a lie a full printed misrepresentation of their covered services. Contact your representative that sold the policy? Forget it he is hiding in *** somewhere. Your call will go unreturned. Then try & call anyone in customer service in Georgia & you get no-where fast. AFLAC is the most misleading company out there. They have the wrong mascot in a duck it should be a RAT. If you live in NJ don't buy any AFLAC dental insurance policies.

Albaby, u r fromgeorgia for sure. U missed the entire point.

First, Delta Dental Insurance is fantastic for rates, benefits & coverage. Secondly Aflac Dental of which we pay the higher premium, gave us a printed benefit coverage booklet. They dont pay what they claim to pay!! I suggest u go back to school & learn reading comprehension all over again.

Re-read what i wrote, maybe u will understand. My guess is u work @ Aflac.

Guest

I have several Aflac policies including dental. Orthodontics are not covered unless you pay extra for it. My representative advised us against it. He did say we should get the coverage if we need procedures. If you need cleanings and x-rays and that is it, he said don't get it. I have found all dental insurances to suck pretty bad. It is only worth it if you need work.

It really is basic math. if you pay $40-$80 a month and you are going to get a cleaning ($40-$120 depending on the dentist), yes genius, you are possibly paying more than a month's premium.

Try this math, genius, find out what your plan pays for a few cavities, a root canal, a crown, 4 cleanings and two x-ray. Now how does that work out? look at your yearly premium and multiply it by 2 and see how it works out.

The biggest problem with a lot of these posts about Aflac is one, a number of people here want something for nothing, two, they aren't going after their representative and getting them changed if they don't service or mislead, three, seems as though a number of these people are lazy!

All insurance companies need documentation to pay a claim. The will be fined if they pay claims with out documentation.

COME ON PEOPLE!

Aflac Not Paying

It has been over three weeks since I got out of the hospital, and still have not received payment from Aflac. What I am getting is the run around on paper work that they say is needed. This paper work has been submitted two times. They want an AU form. I ask them why this paper work was not asked for tree weeks ago. They just come with some reason for not having to pay. When I get this money I am dropping them. If I save what I have paid them I would be father ahead. So don't give Aflac your money.

I have had the same issues with AFLAC! I went into surgery on 11/25/14 and still have not gotten a check, each time I call to check on my status I'm getting the run around also......blah blah blah...

we need this paper and that statement.

I have been off work for 5 weeks and no check has come, when it does I will be cancelling this policy. I'm tired of all the *** and run around

I had alflac and thought it was a great idea. after i recieved my first bill that was left over from my regular insurance.

I called my aflac rep to get some info on how to submit a claim and get reimbursed and never recieved a return call. I tried for 2 weeks to call and never got a call back. Then out of the blue she called while i was at work and left a short pointless message telling me to call her, she would be happy to help. I called and called and even emailed her repeatedly.

I still have not gotten a check, a phone call, or an email from them. Aflac is the worst kind of company...they are ridiculously SNEAKY..and you shouldn't believe a word they tell you. Thanks for nothing AFLAC, now I have no money from paying the bill and paying YOUR COMPANY!!!

and yes i even submitted pdf and doc of my bill and all proper informational files.

Plus it's such a small matter that it's going to cost even more to get a lawyer to get any money from ALfac and they probably run their business around knowing this. SNEAKY!!!

Guest

I truly understand your fustration. But I have to tell you that you must sumbit all paperwork in order to be paid.

I had Aflac for a long time and it took me a while to learn this and for any injury or sickness claim i submit, we've gotten paid. No Joke this is real, but they will not inform you if you are missing paperwork. Its your job to have all documents.

On the front ov every claim it tell you what all you need. And if you don't follow as noted there will be a delay.

Just Saying.

AFLAC is run by liers and frauds

On Feb 17th transfered my personal policys to one at the company I work. I signed a document to stop auto withdraw from my bank account.

Some how the "Agent" did not fax all the paperwork. So on March 5th AFLAC withdrew $50.05 from bank account. And the Nightmare and Lies begin! I informed the agent and promised to have money back in account within 3-4 days.

LIE! On the 27th of March agent and I spoke. He promised again to have a check issued and mailed ASAP. LIE!

Never received check by the 20th of April. AFLAC HQ and Agent claim lost in mail. So promised to reissue the check. And I was told that check reissued and should be received by the 2nd of May.

Well, You guessed it NO CHECK! Now on the 7th of May check reissued sent UPS....UPS damaged envolpoe! Now All AFLAC people trieing to find way to reissue refund.

THe said I should know in a week? WTF!

You think having 50.00 taken is bad.

Sign an agent contract, (if they let you see it and read it).

I, to date have had $80,000 so far stollen from me. And I will see a response from an Aflace employee stating "no this couldn't happen". Not only does it happen, the worst of it, it was approved by the corporate compliance dept, legal and most of all a family member.

Be aware of who is Aflac, AFLAC, American Family Life Assurance (they go by so many). Get on the internet and research how many cases agents have brought against this company for fraud, you will never want to work for them.

"UPS damaged envolpoe! Now All AFLAC people trieing to find way to reissue refund. THe said I should know in a week?"

I am thinking you should learn how to spell.

The fact of the matter is that Aflac has 75,000 agents. Some are just fantastic.

Others are not. Just fire your agent if he/she overpromises. Call corporate and tell them. I know the exact problem you are experiencing.

If you called IRS and expected a refund in 10 days, they would laugh. The Aflac computers will get you your money back. It simply takes time. On Claims on the other hand, I have to come to Aflac's defense.

The claims department is amazing and supriese me a 9 year veteran. I have extensive experience with other carriers and the aflac claims department keeps me from going anywhere else.

And yes, Aflac is one of the most ethical company however that award does not include INDEPENDENT AGENTS. The insurance department in my state fines and takes away Aflac agents licesnes every year.

It's public record. Go to your states web insurance commissioners web site.

Guest

I can't believe you think the folks at Aflac are trying to steal you 50 dollars

Aflac is a 50 billion dollar company

Named most ethical insurance company in the world 6 yrs in a row

Btw the agent that you are being so hard on did the transfer to payroll for you as a service , they will never receive a penny for transferring your policies

Unfortunatly mistakes happen we are all human and I'm sorry if that 50 dollars which you will definitly get back means that much to you that you accuse and demean another human being of being thief

Shame on you I'll bet you are just a nice to the agent who was trying to help you correct a problem

He or she must smile when they hear your Name on their on their answering machine

Hi my name is Justin Bennett I have filed a short term disability claim due to an injury that occurred 01/01/2016 I have gone to the emergency room several times this month and have been out of work since the first. I have submitted all of the paper work from the emergency room visits in place of the Dr form because I have been told that they would suffice in place of it.

My employer would not allow me back to work until released to do so by the orthopedic specialist I was referred to by the er. I went seen the Dr today he released me to go back until my next visit when a proper diagnosis can be made and will not sign the physician form until said visit happens. I must pay for an MRI and my next visit but am not able to do so because I've been being jerked around on this claim. I have a daughter and another child on the way.

I need this money so that I can pay my rent and buy food and go back to my specialist so that I can find out what is going on with me.

Oh and the best part of all this?

I took my release note to my employer and find out that I have been replaced. My email is spazbennett6@***.com

I too am having trouble with a claim filed in 2011 and now over two years later still getting the run around...I agree call your lawyer!

It's good at first as far as paying out small claims, but when you depend on it; such as disability policy, don't hold your breath you just might go bankrupt and lose your policies...

I have the same policies in place for myself. After reading

This- my concern is- if they deny such health catastrophes

Listed- would I be treated in the same manner

If I filed claims too?

Guest

I'm having a similar issue. I was in the hospital in April and July 2012.

Have sent in evrything BUT the UB 04. The hospitalbilling dept.absolutely refuses to provide me with this saying it is not their policy to do so. Will AFLAC accept anything else?

Does anyone have any suggestions? AflacPhyllis, I would really like to discuss this with you.

Guest

Just for your information...Aflac generates a reference id number with every call, so ask for that id number every time you speak to a representative

Guest

be warned. the phyllis comment is a generic response from a rep that is so job is to try and cover their *** on here.

Call your lawyer and ask names later. god bless america

Aflac is an amazing company. It's really easy to file claims and if there's ever been any delay in my claims its been because I forgot something obvious on the form.

Yes, forms and documentation are needed, Aflac doesn't have ESP...and yes you have to PROVE the loss, as with any insurance company out there. My claims have been fast, responsive, and a delight in the end. I wish people had the smarts to hit thise concerns on head on, rather than going and posting mis information on a website.

Aflac pays their claims. Period.

Past Agent

As stated here, you pay to be affiliated with the name and you make no commission in their heirarchy of sales. The website stated no quotas; the website stated training and the website stated independent agent. Why then were there quotas, of no less than 24 calls to be made each day for no less than 100 cold-call drop-ins per week, why did you have to login to a reporting software and submit by weeks end and training what!!! I was absolutely appalled at what I saw with respect to management and running of this office. I had always thought of Aflac as being a honest and well-oiled company. I'm sorry, Mr. Amos, this office was not reflective of this and quite frankly, phoning into the corporate office lacked my giving it high marks as well; was put on hold for over an hour and after hesitantly leaving my name for a callback when the callback occurred, I was still on hold for over twenty minutes. I was an employee! I couldn't get through to receive assistance!

As Dan Amos CEO states; Aflac chief: U.S. sales model is broken

Guest

I've worked with Aflac for about a month and a half now. Closed 2 accounts so far, but they were small. It really depends on where you work and who you're under. My DSC is great! They do training about once or twice a week, and really help you out. My car caught fire, and for the entire month I had no car my DSC would pick me up and drive me to and from work out of his way.

In the District Office neighboring us, however, their district doesn't do ***! No training, no help with appointments, nothing. The agents are just given the office address and told to "work" without them really even knowing what the *** they are supposed to do.

It really seems to be who you work for and under. They told me straight us, "Your first year is going to be the hardest year," but almost no one sticks around for that long. If you are looking to invest in a career with Aflac, I would suggest that you get at the very least a part-time job. You also should not do this if you have dependents.

Again though, it is all the luck of the draw on DSC and Regional and how they run things. I've seen some agents here say that they were demanded to reach quotas and such. This is probably true but it was not true for me. I have heard of some locations demanding 300 calls a day and dressed in a suit everyday. Mine was nothing of the sort. I was given personal goals to reach, but I'm not really pressured to reach them.

If you are going to look into working with Aflac, you should probably more so look at the reputation for the Regional, and if you can, their DSCs.

I also fell for this scam of insurance. Was told they would pay 100% of my emergency room visit.

Even called the so called agent on the way to the er and told her exactly what was going on and was told not to worry, I was covered just don't worry we have you covered! BS now I am stuck paying almost $6000.00 in er bills. They paid $270.00 on everything what a scam.

I had paid in over $4000.00 dollars from a minimum wage job. The Duck is A *** Don't fall for it or you'll get the Wing Job.

AFLAC Is not intended to pay 100% of your emergency bill. It is SUPPLEMENTAL insurance.

They pay out scheduled amounts depending on the severity of the injury.

I am sure you were given a brochure and also received a copy of your policy in the mail, which explains this all in detail. I also don't understand how you paid out $4000 for your Aflac when it runs between $40-$60 a month.

You should probably sue the agent for giving you false information. Aflac has a hospital plan, but it only pays for about $100/day. If you get the more expensive one, the also adds in $8000 for surgery.

That agent definitely lied to you about Aflac products and you should definitely sue her for that.

Why didn't you just make copy's? And ask for your agent or another local agent to help you file?

Guest

I, too, had a claim with AFLAC that took months to settle. They used every excuse they could think of not to pay me (I had a heart attack!).

I mailed AND faxed numerous copies of supporting documents and releases and I would still be told that the paperwork was never received or had been misplaced!

It took 7 months (!) for my claim to be settled. Afterward, one of the reps stated that she was sorry for the delay and that it should have taken no longer than 2 weeks since all paperwork had been sent by me.

Guest

It sounds like you are having a hard time. Even with your Dr.

charging you money to fill out a form. In general, your Dr. should fill out forms for free based on a visit to them...

I had a small problem with a payment, turned out to be a mischecked medical code from the Dr's office.

I simply contacted my Rep and it was resolved immediately. Maybe you should contact your Rep.

Get with the times! Every doctor nowadays charges you to fill out paperwork.

Their busy too and bombarded with paperwork from all of these insurance companies.

I think it's ashame that a huge corporation like Aflac seems to ACCIDENTALLY loose our claims so we have to keep paying doctors numerous times to fill them out. It's all just a stall tactic!

Beware - Aflac only pays on certain accidents

I have the accident policy from Aflac for my whole family that essneitally amounts to supplemental insurance over and above my regular Blue Cross plan. My 8 year old son broke out some front teeth doing flips on our trampoline this past year.

We rushed him to the hospital to stop the bleeding, and then were sent to an orthodontist to handle the dental trauma. After my Blue Cross, i was out $3,800 out of pocket. Upon submitting all paperwork and doctor's reports, Aflac only paid $105, citing the accident required dental treatment, which they do not cover. The agent stated, "If your son had broken his arm, we would have paid $3,500 for this claim, but broken teeth, only $105".

Thanks Aflac for nothing! A complete waste of money.

My opinion! this company is the most user unfriendly company I have ever dealt with!

My husband had shoulder surgery in December, I asked what forms were needed, so my husband could take them in to get filled out. I am on the fifth or sixth rejection letter "not enough information." Our policies came up for renewal showed every thing to rep. she said she would handle it I got another rejection letter Friday!!!!!!!!!! Then there is the fact that you can only address your policies on the anniversary of signing-up, I stated that all I wanted was the cancer and long term hosp.

stay.

(But after reading these comments I will be canceling everything next year. Burns me up all that money I have spent and the money I will be paying until next year.

Deborrah Kvi

I had a huge loss due to Cancer, they only paid me 800.00 after all the years of payments! I am so sorry your son had the accident, very painful!

Selma Noa

Today I canceled my AFLAC ACCIDENTIAL insurance. I filed an online claim in relation to a work related injury, that lead to hand surgery.

My claim was first denied because I upload "photos" of my Doucments "(Docs)". Aflac claimed my Docs were unlegible, claim denied. I refiled claim the next day, with an Aflac Customer service agent on the cell as I uploaded Docs. Again Aflac denied my work related injury claim stating...."the condition referenced above was not caused by an accident and therefore does not meet the policy's definition of an injury." Aflac has a 24 hour direct deposit for filing your claim online, where they use tactics to delay and obstruct you filing.

Everything from the uploads are too large, uploads won't work because you have to clear your computer or cell of all cookies before uploading any Documents "(DOCs). You have to call customer service to get help with the uploads. And filing an Appeal takes longer then 30 days to resolve. Upon purchase, Aflac does not disclose to the patron that Aflac ACCIDENTAL insurance policy is limited to a small short list of accidental issues. The fact is Aflac blind sides you by making you think you have this great coverage that covers ALL your Accidental needs. lie...LIE!...LIE!!!

Here listed is the TRUTH.....I am sure this list has changed. Pays benefits for the treatments listed below:ACCIDENT SPECIFIC-SUM INJURIES BENEFITSDISLOCATIONS .......................... $100–$3,750BURNS......................................$125–$12,500SKIN GRAFTS .......... 50% of the burns benefitamount paid for the burn involvedEYE INJURIESSurgical repair........................................$300Removal of foreign body by a physician ..

Does my accident policy pay for a chiropractor if I was cleaning the leaves under a pree and I reached to far and I pulled something in my shoulder?

Guest

If you read the accident coverage it states that you may fall ill and have to go to emergency room which I did. Diagnosis was kidney stones. I had Scan done at hospital and have had 2 outpatient procedures at surgery center.is any of this considered accident coverage to file a claim I cant seem to find this information on website

I’ve never had a problem with AFLAC paying for my claims. Read your policy, call if you have questions.

AFLAC used to have a dental policy, but I don’t think they offer that any longer. Sorry you had trouble.

I, personally will always carry AFLAC insurance. It sure helped me during my cancer last year and in other situations through the years.

Guest

I have had there policy twice in my career. Recently I signed up for Always.

They have payed for our accidents without hesitation and I have the clumbiest bunch ever.

We use it for physicians visits and even wellness exam. Some things don't pay as much as we calculate but it makes taking off and having to parent easier with a cushion.

Guest

Gonna cancel my policy I have paid for yearS on. Waste of money as if I do get hurt, they will fight to not have to pay. What a scam and waste
