My mother passed away and Aflac is giving me the run around
My mother passed away in May after more than 15 years of paying on two policies, one a cancer and the other an ICU policy. AFLAC has given me (the executor) complete run around.
I have made dozens of phone calls only to be told that I need another form or the hospital didn't give them the correct information. Each time I have given them the form or obtained the information they requested they have come up with another delaying tactic. This is fraud in my book. They are doing everything they can to not pay any claims.
After 6 months of arguing with them I'm giving up which I believe is what they wanted all along. My advice do not get AFLAC policies, period..
Monetary Loss: $1000.

If your mother did not die from cancer or spend time in ICU, then you probably have no benefits coming. AFLAC policies change over the years and the agent you are communicating with probably wasn't around 15 years ago to know the details of the policy. You would be better off calling AFLAC HQ directly.
Yes, you need to understand the policies she had, and what they will pay on
Did your mother die from cancer? Had she spent time in the ICU?
